首先，正在填 DS 160表，有幾個問題：

1. 是應該選temporary working visa這一項嗎？-Yes.

2. 問到誰pay for the trip, 是該選petitioner還是self呢？

-It is paid by yourself.

3. 在選擇題 Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?中，該回答yes 還是no 呢？  -Say "Yes".

事實情況是我現在的單位剛給我遞交了I-140. 這算不算file呢？-Yes.

 

有一個和麵試相關的問題：

  我現在的單位（一個liberal arts college)  幫我遞交了I-140, 也剛給我把工作簽證延長到了 2019年。 但是給了我 1-year notice, 也就是說，明年我就必須離職，去尋找新的工作。到時候等不到file 485就等於說丟工作了。這一情況，如果在麵試中被觸及，需要實話說嗎？

-Not need to say anything about this kind of thing. You need to get the employment verification letter from your current employer and your recent paycheck stubs (e.g. the paycheck stubs of Jan to June this year) for the H-1B visa application interview. Also bring the copies of tax retruns and W-2 Forms since you worked as the H-1 holder, just in case.

還有一個技術問題：

我現在已經是H1b第三年了，一直在學術界工作，如果明年換成industry的工作，新單位還可以給我六年的新簽證嗎？

-Total regular H-1 is 6 years no matter how many employers you work. But if you have the approved I-140 (e.g. current I-140 is approved), then you can extend your H-1 beyond the 6-year H-1 limit indefinitely  as long as the I-140 is not withdrawn by the sponsor no matter which employer you work later. By the way, if you want to work for an industrial company, you need to get the H-1 quote (that is not easy).
