州政府有幫助老人的社會服務部門，幫助老人填稅單，申請聯邦和州的福利，一般叫department of social service。他們會幫你母親申請各種福利。美國福利很多，而且在聯邦各個部，州政府各個機關下實施，你不要隻到社會安全部去看。
