請教皮匠和數字老師，關於親屬移民

哥哥有公民身份，已經為父母遞交了綠卡申請，妹妹和父母目前都在美國境內，妹妹為有效的探親簽證。

現在哥哥想同時再為妹妹辦理綠卡的親屬移民。請問，等待期內妹妹是否也可以合法在美居留？

-Your sister has to have her own non-immigration status valid until the priority date becomes current abouit 10 years later and it seems impossible unless she can find a job to have H1 status.

因為聽說給父母辦綠卡時間比較快，基本上半年就能搞定了，但是妹妹的排期可能至少要10年，

如果申請提交時妹妹在美滯留的身份合法，申請被受理以後妹妹可以不回國等待排期嗎？

-Yes, she has to go back to China to wait.
