本人是以J-1訪問學者身份來美（在美國大學裏，美國這邊不給錢所以沒有雇傭關係）後申請了EB1A ，I-140已經得到批準。預計近期就可以拿到J豁免。 我的問題是：
- 在已批準的I-140（EB1A）基礎上， 可否在沒有工作（沒有雇主證明信）的情況下就直接遞交I-485調整身份?
-Technically, yes. You need to provide your employment plan/statement for I-485 filing in this case, but you had better have a job or job offer because some IO may ask you to provide employment letter later.
- 在此情況是否必須提供經濟實力證明以表明不會成為社會負擔? 除了美國這裏銀行賬戶的流水賬, 可否提供國內的銀行資金證
-Not need such proof documents.
- 如果必需有雇主證明信 (Employment Verification Letter), 那就隻能等拿到J豁免後先找份工作將身份從J-1轉成H-1後再提交I-485了?
-Not need H-1 status. If you get the J-1 waiver, then you can file I-485 no matter what status you have (even if J-1). Of course, if you have a job or keep your current job with J-1 status, then that will be very helpful. Your J-12 waiver does not affect your current J-1 status, but you can not extend your J-1 status after getting J-1 waiver.
- 如果是這種情況, 那麽是否最好找 I-140 Part 6 Basic Information about the proposed employment中填寫的那個雇主(也就是我目前所在的大學)?
-Fine if you still work there when you file I-485 after getting J-1 waiver.
還是隻要是同意研究領域的研究職位即可?
-Yes if you leave your current employer.
