問一個離婚的問題，謝謝

有個朋友在國內曾結婚，用一代身份證登記的。在美國生活多年，老公一直在國內。

現在要去國內離婚，她的身份證已作廢，換用美國護照5年以上了。需要在美國辦什麽手續嗎？還是回國在當地民政登記機關辦理就行了？
