Ok, I never had similar

situation before. Just based on what I learn/hear/listen, I would not say "sorry" first to the person of the other party. Maybe I am just a bad person (i know i am not :)) or simply too stubborn. Yes, I agree with the post that " in the world, there are lots of (or even most are) decent people. Let's just hope that all people we meet/handle/deal with are decent people.
