Qatar 是寰宇一家 OneWorld 成員，所以 AA BA 英航 EI 愛爾蘭 IB 伊比利亞 and of course QR 卡塔爾 自己的裏程可換。 AS 阿拉斯加 雖然也是成員 但它要的裏數非常高 所以基本沒有用。除非將來 Cathay Pacific resume their flights to JNB, 這個是 AS 裏數最有價值的兌換。(用 AS 裏程換 CX 國泰，JL 日航，QA 袋鼠 價值極高，而且 AS allows a stopover on International route even on one way redemption 這個可以很 creative. 曾經飛過 JNB-HKG, stopover for a week, HKG-LAX-SEA, overnight layover, SEA-SLC，one redemption. 在 Salt City 租車 去了 Glacier NP, 和 Canadian Rockies. 回家是用 DL 的裏程)
AA 裏程最有價值的用法是換 Qatar flight 去馬爾代夫，印度，中東，非洲。 還有 歐洲和澳洲之間，中東和亞洲之間。當然都是經 Doha.
今年初 Qatar 宣布它的裏程會和 British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia 的裏程 變成一個共同體，所有都是 Avios 可以互相轉換。而且如果 QR and BA accounts are linked, as long as you have some Avios in your QR account, QR would automatically pull the needed balance from linked BA account to meet the total required Avios for booking an award.
上個月這個共同體裏的 Programs made alignments of the mileage requirement AND surcharge amount. 就是說 從那一個 program 去 book, 所需的裏數和 Surcharge 都是一樣的。 This is a super interesting development, because BA Avios is transfer partner of Chase, American Express and Citi, therefore very easy to earn. 而且 dealing with BA is easier than dealing with IB or QR. 忽然之間 BA 的 Avios 多了很多價值。
因為 award availability usually is better in Native program. For example, QR flight availability would show much more in QR own program than can be found when using BA program. Same is true for IB flights. 所以有時候仍然有需要轉點去 native program。

這個貼子是希望引起大家的注意。在美國的朋友，我們在這方麵有的資源是獨一無二的，因為沒有留意而浪費了是很可惜的。我認?的加拿大朋友不知多羨慕我們的資源。在下麵我放了一個加拿大 based 的 blog, 應該在加拿大住的朋友有所幫助。
對於我們來説裏程最大的價值在於可以單程 可以取消，更改，費用合理或者免費。單程的設計令行程可以非常靈活 而且可以視乎需要而用不同的常客計劃來 put together a trip，尤其是 round the world type. RTW 需要的是時間，其實在裏程機票上是節省了的。 比如美國-歐洲-亞洲-美國繞一個圈 所需裏程比兩個 round trips 美國-歐洲 美國-亞洲少了一張票。
換商務艙極其化算 因為不比 domestic, one way 就是 1/2 of round trip 多一點點，international one way 是極貴，more than double of a round trip. 在超過八小時以上的越洋長程飛行，那張可以平躺睡覚的床太太重要了。
要學會選 Partner flights. 在三大聯盟中幾乎所有外國航司長程機型的座位設計都比美國本土的好 商務/頭等艙尤其是。服務和餐飲就不用提了。當付的裏程是一様的時候，當然是盡量選 the best product, 比如同一條航線有漢莎就不會選 UA, 有卡塔爾就不會選 AA, 如第一個 Link 裏也提到了。General rule is Middle East and Asian airlines better tha European Airlines better than US airlines better than Central American/South American Airlines with a few exceptions. 非洲的 埃塞俄比亞和南美的 LATAM are OK. TAP Portuguese 航司比美國的差。中國的硬件配置可以 軟件 （服務和 F and B) 一團糟。一言難盡。
