演藝事業橫跨七十載的唐納德·薩瑟蘭獲獎無數，2017年更獲頒影壇最高榮譽“奧斯卡終身成就獎”。為人熟悉作品包括《普通人》（Ordinary People）、《十二金剛》（The Dirty Dozen）、《叛逆性騷擾》（Disclosure）、《永無止境》（Without Limits）以至較近期的《飢餓遊戲》（The Hunger Games）係列等。
唐納德·薩瑟蘭參演《大腕》
唐納德·薩瑟蘭出生於紐賓士域省聖約翰市（Saint John），14歲即擔任電台新聞記者，其後畢業於多倫多大學（University of Toronto），主修工程及戲劇。他有過三段婚姻，共五名子女，其中的基弗·薩瑟蘭（Kiefer Sutherland）也是著名影星，曾憑主演電視連續劇《24反恐任務》（24）奪得艾美獎及金球獎，其父也曾於該兩個頒獎禮奪得最佳男配角獎。唐納德·薩瑟蘭於1978年獲授官佐級（OC）“加拿大勳章”（Order of Canada），於2019年獲授該勳章最高級別的同伴級（CC）。去年10月，加拿大郵政署發行了以他為主題的郵票，以表揚其作在加國最受尊敬和最有才華之一的演藝生涯。
