想想看,The London Drug連鎖店,有Shoper Drug Mark一樣的化妝品;The Canadian Superstore有大量的南亞東南亞及本土消費者;旗下的幾十家The T&T有清一色的華人消費品和龐大的華人消費群;Walmart有什麽特色?

Hi, my friend, I should say, my good and long time friend. I am going to say something that may not be the exactly music to your ears, but I knew you'd tolerate my ignorance. :)
Here is a thing, let's put the fates of the aggressive American business/market expansions in Canada for a moment, the successful or failing stories of Americans' assaults of True-North-Strong-and-Free may be caused, to a large extent, by Canadian own share of vulnerability and lack-of-vaule/quality(competitive) brands across the boards in Canada ranging from discount stores chains to high tech industries.
For instance, at this point of time, only handful Canadian companies (Jean Coutu Group, Tim Hortons, Bombardier and TD bank ) are receiving proper brand recognitions in America or in the world, the rest of Canadian companies across the segments seem fairing poorly, comparing with its international peers. Even the used-to-be well-known industry leader and household name such Blackberry is struggling to get its footing back, whether or not it can return its heyday is still not clear at this point of time. However, it dodged the Nortel-like bullet, for now. The question pondered and answers sought might be why Canadian could allow this long and painful downward spiral to occur in the first place and how to make right moves to turn the tide around rather playing the blaming games. I think that Canada may need to focus on the strategy and efforts for regaining and reviving its vibrant and vigorous driving forces before it's too late.As people often say "It's jungle out there."so pointing fingers may not go to far.
Maybe letting China and Canada to merge, changing the name to Chinada, would work. I just kidding you guys. Proud Canadians, please forgive me for my bad taste joke, okay?
That being said, I am not here to try to degrade Canada, which is a great country with ample human talents and abundant natural resources. I am confident and remaining hopeful for Canada's come-back.

But if you want to invade Canada, no way! We Canadian now are watching US going down as fast as China going up:)
