Chernivtsi In a recent post on his social network Truth, US President Donald Trump argued that It is very hard, if not impossible, to win a war without attacking an invaders country, adding that Crooked and grossly incompetent Joe Biden would not let Ukraine FIGHT BACK, only DEFEND.
These are beautiful and right words, as his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, observed, butthe facts contradict them.
As The Wall Street Journal confirmed yesterday, based on reports from two officials of the current U.S. administration, in fact,one of the very first measures taken by the arrogant tycoon, to whom Americans have entrusted the fate of their country and the world, was precisely the decision to not allow Ukraine to use American long-range tactical missile systems.
By revoking the long-awaited authorization his predecessor had finally granted, Donald Trump once again tied the hands of the invaded, preventing it from attacking the invading country.
It is important to remember thatthis senseless restriction, which he now openly criticizes by attributing it to others, prevents Ukraine from using ATACMS missiles, British Storm Shadows, or their French SCALP variant, as even the targeting data for the latter depends on Washingtons approval. It is equally important to recognize that after three years of fighting like a welterweight boxer forced to fight one-handed against a heavyweight,Ukraine was able to launch its first attack on Russian territory with American ATACMS missiles only on November 19 of last year, hitting an enemy military base in Karachev in the Bryansk region. Since then, there have been more calls to use those already rationed missiles more judiciously (a phrase used by other American and NATO officials) than praise for doing so well andin accordance with international law.
Not content with this, Donald Trump also approved the sale to Kyiv of over 3,000 American ERAM aerial missiles with a range of between 240 and 450 km for a price largely funded by European countries of approximately $850 million, while clarifying that their use might also require Pentagon approval.
Worn out by the war and frustrated by the humiliation of surrendering the worlds third-largest nuclear arsenal for a deal as demeaning as it was unreliable, Ukraine began to strike hard at the Russian Federation with domestically produced launchers that have little to envy from those overseas.
Capable of carrying a payload of 1,150 kg over a distance of more than 3,000 km,the new FP-5 Flamingo missile, entirely produced in Ukraine, was announced just a few days ago as one of the largest cruise missiles of its kind in the world. Fire Point, which has already made 211 of these and plans to produce seven daily by October, took less than nine months to develop it.
Using a different Ukrainian-made missile with far less destructive power, theNeptune, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Russian refinery in Tuapse in June, causing a fire that took three days to put out. To celebrate the reaffirmation of its independence, Ukraine introduced a modification that also allows that cruise missile renamed theP-360 Long Neptune to strike depths of up to 1,000 km. Having reached the production rate of Russias largest Geran drone plant (variants of the Iranian Shahed), the Ukrainian company Fire Point is already producing around 100 similar but cheaper FP-1 drones. At a unit cost of about $55,000, each of these drones carries roughly 60 kg of explosives and is partly responsible for 60% of Ukrainian attacks deep into Russian territory.
As I mentioned in my previous report from those regions,Ukraines Donbas was historically the economic engine of the Soviet Union because of its industrialization and abundant raw materials.
Ukrainian engineering was its flagship.
Anyone who thinks that the thousands of nuclear warheads Ukraine agreed to give up for peace were somehow inherited isnt knowledgeable about the history of this country or the former USSR and therefore doesnt understand the true nature of Putins deviant and criminal reasoning.
