The FTCsMade in USA Labeling Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 323), finalized in 2021, mandates that a product must be all or virtually all made in the United States to carry an unqualified Made in USA label.
Final Assembly:The final assembly or processing of the product must occur within the United States.
Significant Processing:All significant processing that goes into the product must occur in the U.S..
Domestic Content:All or virtually all components or ingredients must be sourced from the U.S., with no more than negligible foreign content.
Qualified Claims:If a product does not meet the all or virtually all standard, it may use qualified claims such as Assembled in USA or Made in USA of U.S. and imported parts.
