樹根籬角示現的豈是她的全部

她有生薑一樣的根，有滋有味

汲飲大地恩情！冬天她是隱士

初夏便傾心鍾情於蝶形之鳶尾

 

特立獨行之酒杯，斟滿虛空之實

水土之一合相，光明之無上價值

於是有道士與和尚為之爭論不休

一說真有一說實無皆非肉眼可見！

 

 

The Iris, Seen Only by Looking Up

 

What appears at the tree roots and fence corners is not her entirety.

She has roots like ginger, flavorful and strong,

Drawing nourishment from the earth's kindness! In winter, she is a hermit,

In early summer, she wholeheartedly loves the butterfly-shaped iris.

 

A unique wine cup, filled with the image of emptiness,

The union of water and soil, the supreme value of light.

Thus, a Taoist and a monk argue endlessly over her,

One claims she truly exists, the other says she does not, both invisible to the naked eye!
