One day as I was walking through the mall, (being bored as usual) my mom was angry at me again for trying to correct her Chinglish (the gibberish you hear from Chinese dumbos as they try to speak English) so, of course, she started to screeching at me. My reaction was to find a wall to lie on. Listening to the old bird’s screams can really tire you out. Too bad I did not bring my very necessary earmuffs. I thought of funny stuff that could possibly happen. In my mind a janitor in a gas mask appeared at our battle sight and put up a sign that said in big words “Caution. A person containing the Mad Cow Disease had just been here.” I imagined he was spraying disinfectant and air freshener everywhere. I chuckled softly to myself. My red- faced mother continued to jabber on and on. Her supply of saliva to spit out was endless. I spotted a small pretty girl with brown curls that was dropping her watermelon sorbet all over her.
“Look mommy! That big girly looks older than her mummy!” she said rather loudly to the tall woman beside her. Her mother (or so I assumed) turned rather red and quickly ushered her into the woman’s bathroom. I tried hard to stifle my laughter which caused me to choke on the humor I had just witnessed. I was so glad my mom could not hear anything over her own voice. I had to drink a cup of water afterwards to stop choking. Good little girl.
