愛爾蘭民歌《丹尼少年》（Danny Boy），是我生平最喜歡的一首歌。歌中寫情人在生死線外，幽明永隔，死者不已，生者含悲，纏綿淒涼，令人難忘......我一直想把這首歌譯成中文，但是遷就用韻，未能如願。一年前我試譯了一半，還沒譯完，就入獄了。今天上午整理舊稿，發現了這一半譯文，決心把它譯完。花了一個半小時，用直譯意譯混合法，居然把它譯成了。 [附記] 照愛爾蘭民歌的原始意味，這首歌是寫父子之情，Danny Boy最後尋找到的，是父子之愛。我這裏意譯，當然別有所延伸，特此聲明如上。(李敖 一九八二年十二月二十七日下午)

這幾首經典，雖然被無以計數的藝人唱過，但唱出新意的卻不多。這個小孩除了其聲音有穿透胸膛的力度外，更讓我驚奇的是他這個年齡對歌曲的理解。也許沒有那麽複雜，隻是童真無敵啊！
