It’s been over a year that I’ve worked from home.
The concept of “Work From Home” used to be a dream to me. I still remember about 2 years ago, or maybe 3, I was reading a book at Barnes and Noble called “4-hour work week”. It was a Saturday afternoon, we were at a mall and usually we read while drinking Star-bucks there.
The concept of “4-hour work week” basic goes like this: you outsource your work to someone or some company in India, while you travel the world and do things you’d like to do.
The author of that book included a lot of his travel experiences in the book, and also tells people how to start to live that life style.
Well, as a Christian, I disagree with a lot of the things in that book, such as lying to your boss and trying to get them to agree for you to work from home, initially a few days, then gradually completely working from home. While you get your boss to think you are “working” from home, you outsource your work to someone else, and you go travel or do whatever you want. … That is wrong.
However, this book did bring up a good point, and it has since stuck to my mind, that is: a rich person is not someone who has money, but one who has time.
This reminds me of this bible passage from Luke 12:16-20:
And he(Jesus) told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’
“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
Truly, what would all the money get for this person if he dies that same night? All the money in the world will not buy him one more day for his life.
The bible tells us that our days are numbered, in Job 14:5:
A man’s days are numbered. You know the number of his months. He cannot live longer than the time You have set.
Our days are not in our hand, the length of our lives are ordained by God. He doesn’t tell us how long we will live, how much time we still have on this earth. However, what He does tell us is that everyone will die, and there’s judgment after we die, in Hebrew 9:27:
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
So since we as humans beings, who don’t know our lives’ end time, a smart thing to do would be to make the wise decision while he/she is still living(because a dead person can’t make this decision), and as soon as possible, for today is what you have, you may not have tomorrow.

Pray this simple sinner’s prayer:
Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace, therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
