國際學生和美國學生的區別

和Manika在一起的時候發生了許多事情，她是我的advisor,很多生活上的小事我至今都記得。
Manika comes from India, she is now 55 years old.
有一次和Manika聊what's the differences between international students and American students?
She said； American students have never realized how lucky they are, when they get stuff in school, so many free help, information, technology, knowledge, professor's advice, they always think these things are guaranteed, it is so easy to get all these. But Indian and Chinese students come from a place which is in lack of all these. So international students appreciate it and enjoy it. However, American students do not know what a good learning opportunity they have right now, and they just give it away.

今天重新回想這句話，我很慚愧，我覺得自己越來越像那些美國學生了。

剛來美國的時候，非常珍惜光陰，珍惜向導師學習的時光，基本上每天都主動找老師，討論學習。那時候的代價是基本上沒有任何私人時間，個人的性格和脾氣也慢慢從外向轉為內向。

現在走向了另一個極端，經常去想著放鬆和娛樂。不小心發現上個月我竟然沒有學習，讀了57本文藝書籍。我還是應該回到正軌，珍惜學習時光，因為文藝書籍隨時可以看，而現在和老師交流，和同學們討論的機會，錯過，便是永遠。
