Note: Puerto Montt is a vibrant port city and commune in southern Chile approximately 1,055 kilometers south of the capital, Santiago. Founded in 1853 during the German colonization of southern Chile, Puerto Montt quickly surpassed older neighboring cities due to its strategic location. It serves as a gateway to various natural wonders, including the Chiloé Archipelago, Llanquihue and Nahuel Huapi lakes, Calbuco Volcano and Western Patagonia.
