What a sad, unfulfilling movie. Can't understand what we should take from this. What was the point of making this movie? That there are frivolous people, that there are pointless lives. We know all this. But why? 2

Reply @spinstercatlady 1 day ago Maybe the actions that might initially seem fairly harmless (her tryst with Beaver) can actually have far-reaching repercussions? Waugh, the author of the book, was a serious Catholic, so it definitely has a lot to do with morality, I'm thinking. The grand estate featured in the movie was Carlton Towers in Yorkshire, England. The house served as the primary location for Hetton Abbey, reflecting the novel's description of a vast, rebuilt Victorian Gothic mansion. It is currently the family home of Lord and Lady Gerald Fitzalan-Howard; Lord Gerald is the younger brother of the 18th Duke of Norfolk. The house features dramatic pointed spires, intricate stone detailing, and opulent interiors designed by Edward Welby Pugin in the 1870s. It is available to hire for weddings - just imagine that! ?? About a million years ago I had my wedding in my local parish church, and we had 72 guests, mainly close family. People should make the most of their life, and enjoy it. God bless them!
