my notes: I did not HK got Nobel Prize until now. HK was a unique and polarized figure. I did homework on him, who was 100 years old and died yesterday (2023-11-29).

Henry Kissinger is a highly influential figure in American diplomacy, notably serving as the U.S. Secretary of State under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford from 1973 to 1977. Renowned for his role in orchestrating the diplomatic opening with China and the détente with the Soviet Union during the Cold War, Kissinger played a key part in reshaping international relations. His diplomatic efforts earned him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973 for his role in negotiating a ceasefire during the Vietnam War, marking a significant recognition of his contributions to global diplomacy.

Henry Kissinger, a former U.S. Secretary of State and a key figure in U.S. foreign policy, has authored several books. Here is a list of some of his notable works:

"A World Restored: Metternich, Castlereagh and the Problems of Peace, 1812-1822" (1957) - Kissinger's doctoral dissertation that explores the post-Napoleonic European diplomatic landscape.

"Nuclear Weapons and Foreign Policy" (1957) - Examines the role of nuclear weapons in shaping international relations.

"The Necessity for Choice: Prospects of American Foreign Policy" (1961) - Addresses U.S. foreign policy challenges during the early 1960s.

"A World Order: Reflections on the Character of Nations and the Course of History" (2014) - Offers Kissinger's perspectives on world order and international relations.

"Diplomacy" (1994) - Discusses the art of diplomacy and the historical context of international relations.

"White House Years" (1979) - The first volume of Kissinger's memoir covering his time as National Security Advisor and Secretary of State under Presidents Nixon and Ford.

"Years of Upheaval" (1982) - The second volume of Kissinger's memoir, delving into the events and challenges he faced during the later years of the Nixon administration.

"Does America Need a Foreign Policy? Toward a Diplomacy for the 21st Century" (2001) - Explores the role of the United States in global affairs.

Professor Louis DeSipio says former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger had a “willing accomplice” in former President Richard Nixon and was “entrusted” with his “clear ideas” on what he wanted to do. … “Nixon placed foreign policy at the center of his administration in a way that few presidents had, and he entrusted Mr. Kissinger with guiding that policy and Kissinger had very clear ideas about what he wanted to do,”
