劇情：
義俠[大刀王五]鋤強扶弱一刀平天下。知己難求，能舍身為友的人更是廖若晨星。因此之故，清人王五（吳卓羲）與課嗣同（黃宗澤）的友誼一直為後人所樂道。 五一向視讀聖賢書為苦事，給母親王阮心怡（邵美琪）送入武學堂後才學會腳踏實地。五在的學堂認識了為逃婚而進學堂的同。同才情洋溢，與五一文一武，惺惺相 惜。他倆在教官陳道揚（劉鬆仁）熏陶下，不但武藝精進，更培養了行俠仗義的武德，三人建立起亦師亦友的關係，為避開妻子李閏（楊怡）而入學堂的同在學堂裏 遇上了卓蘭格格（楊思琦），可惜蘭隻喜歡五。離開學堂後，五在揚在協助下重開亡父的順源鏢局，同則推行改革以望救國救國。同得罪了權貴榮祿，遭其打壓。同 失意於官場........
