加納比海Caribbean: 3 洪都拉斯Roatan

2004年11月加納比海Caribbean之遊第二站。

我們的船離開墨西哥的Cozumel後，前往洪都拉斯（Honduras）的Roatan Island。Roatan是一個非常漂亮的島。這裏自然景色還基本沒有被破壞。當地的大部分居民仍很窮。

(1) Our boat left the first stop Cozumel and the next stop is Roatan Island, Honduras.

(3) We arrived at the Roatan Island. We can see a couple of cruise ships parked at the port.


(3) A memorable scene was these kids running along the bus, trying to sell things. Most of them were trying to sell sea shells and dried sea horse they found themselves. They way they approached us reminded me of similar scenes in China. I bought a sea shell from one of them. I must made him happy. But I also feel sorry that I can't buy from all the kids.


(4) An upscale "white house" on the island. Not every one is poor there. Some people are rich.


(5) We went to an iwana farm. They make great pets.


(6) Fish farm at the backyard of the iwana farm. They use nets to make "pools" to grow fish with natural sea water. 


(7) We went to do some sight-seeing. The coast lines were indeed beautiful. The political situation on Honduras mainland may be unstable sometimes, but the Roatan island is far from the mainland. As a tourist attraction, you can't feel the political atmosphere at the mainland.

(9) After the sight-seeing tour, we stopped by a park to swim and have lunch.

(11) Such beaches would make great photographic sites if I had better camera then.
