August 7th, 2010: Today we went camping at Lake Louise. Unfortunately, my little brother was coughing all night so we were thinking about if he still could come with us. It was because his puffer (for asthma) already expired and if he was in an emergency and was coughing super badly there we wouldn't be able to call the ambulance because there is no signal. My mother tried to calm him down by saying that she would stay with him and he would be able to play on the computer for a long time. My brother thought for a long time and finally said he would stay at home. Me and my dad were about to leave, but we asked my little brother once more if he wanted to come, and he surprisingly changed his answer and said that he wanted to go, so my mother came along with us too. Me and my little brother couldn't wait another second since we were so excited to start camping just for so many reasons! But we didn't forget the car drive which would take approximately 2 hours just to get there. First, we packed our stuff in the car. (tent, sleeping bags, marshmallows, etc.) Then, we drove to a Petro Canada where we met withthe other families that would go camping with us. We were sort of late because my brother thinking at home. We already saw Jack there, but we didn't see Chris! He came several minutes later. We planned of going to Yoho National Park to eat lunch. It took 1 hour 30 minutes to get there! When we were there we went out of the car and grabbed some stuff to eat for lunch. The reason we were here to watch the waterfall called Takakkaw Fall. Soon, we found Chris and Jack but we also saw two other children named Joey and Patrick. Chris's parents said that they invited them to come with us and camp with us. We ate a yummy lunch followed by a hike to the waterfall. But then, we started to rain lightly. We thought it wouldn't disrupt our hike but soon it became a downpour!!! We ran back to our car super fast knowing that my family's car was further away than Jack's, Chris's, and Joey and Patrick's. I let out a sigh of relief when we were back to our car. Me, my brother, my dad, and my mom jumped in the van and we quickly drove to Lake Louise. Along the way, I infered that if it was also raining at the Lake Louise camping site, we would have to cancel the whole camping trip. Fortunately, when we were there, it wasn't raining anymore. We went out of the car and found a place to set our tent. Our tent was so simple, we built it in a snap. Then, we put the comfy cushion in the tent with two sleeping bags and a blanket to keep us extra warm. My mother and little brother said they would sleep in the car instead because they thought it would be safer. After our tent was set, we helped Jack and his dad build their new tent which was more complicated. Finally, it was complete (with their cushion inside) and me and Jack played on our DS's together in his tent. His tent was very cool, it even had windows!Soon, Chris's mother came to us and suggested that we play badminton against each other since she hadbadminton rackets and badminton birdies. Me and Jack played badminton against each other but the birdiesoon got stuck in a tree. Suddenly, a kid came and knocked the birdie off the tree by throwing his badmintonracket. Jack said that his name was Matthew and that he invited him here and another family of two brothersCharlie and John. Matthew declared a tag team badminton match, me and Jack quickly said yes. It was meand Jack vs. Matthew and Charlie. John was the referee, and my brother was the score counter. First one to21 would win. Me and Jack had a great start by such having far serves. But Matthew and Charlie easily caught upand and won with far overhand comebacks and also because they said that we kept hitting it out and they wouldget the point. Me and Jack's jaws dropped and we quickly declared a rematch. They said that it would be tomorrow. Then we had to eat lunch, so we went in a small cooking house where the adults were cooking and BBQ'ingfood for their children. (and themselves!) The thing that was weird was that there were some other familiesin small cooking house that also came on the caming trip. (mostly adults and teens) My mother explained that theycame here on the camping trip with us so they could have a friend reunion with Jack's family because they were allfrom the same province: 湖南. I grabbed some food like seawood, meat, and more, and filled up a cup with Sprite. Then, we went to a table where Joey, Patrick, Chris, and Jack was and not crowded with the other 湖南 families.Matthew, Patrick, and John were beside their tent eating. I gobbled up the delicious goodness clean out of mybowl and drank the Sprite. When everyone was done eating dinner we gathered around a place beside the cooking house where we could put wood in a cube thingy-ma-bobber to make a fire for roasting marshmallows. So first we had to chop up some wood. Jack let my dad use their axe to chop some wood for the fire. When my dad tried cutting wood on the ground it didn't work quite well. Then, Jack supposed that my dad should make the wood elevated by placing it on a stump, and that's what my dad did. It was 100 times easier for him! When my dad sliced enough wood we threw the beams in the cube thingy-ma-bobber and lit the firewood with our lighter. Now the moon has taken the sun's place and it was already pretty dark but things were still visible. I and Chris went to grab our marshmallows and metal sticks. When we came back the 湖南 families came in the scene and grabbed some sticks and marshmallows to roast. Soon, all the metal sticks were gone and the kids didn't have any. Then, Matthew, Charlie, and John came to us and said that they had metal sticks, marshmallows, and a fire besidetheir tent. We dashed to their fire and each got a stick. This was the place where only kids could roast marshmallows. (the other fire beside the cooking house is for adults and teens) We decided that when we were done roasting our single marshmallow we would put it on a container lid and keep saving them until it was full. We each grabbed a stick and poked a marshmallow on the top and sticked it close, but not in the fire. When my brother tried he accidentally sticked it in the fire and it went on fire. My little brother quickly blew it out and the marshmallow was already burnt to cinders! He threw it away and decided to just wait until it was time to eat them. I learned a prettylong time ago that it is best to make the whole marshmallow golden-brown so that the inside would be melted and it would taste super good. While I was roasting I gazed at the stars as they frolicked in the sky beautifully. We kept roasting and putting it on the container lid until it was full and then we gobbled up all the marshmallows and boy did it taste delicious, like super good!!! Jack, Chris, Joey, Patrick, Matthew, Charlie, John, my brother, and me still weren't that sleepy so we decided to play Midnight Soccer! (even though it wasn't midnight yet, it was close) Joey and Patrick didn't want to play so they went back to their tent to sleep with their dad. Everyone went to their tents to grab their flashlights. Then, we all clumped together and progressed across the road to a part forest part field place. We played Midnight Soccer on the field part. The rules were that you have to try to score 5 goals before the other team. When an individual gets a goal the flashlight people wave their flashlights on them up and down and interview them by asking them how they got the goal. They also have to shine the flashlight on the soccer ball so the players know where it is.Jack and my little brother were the flashlight people, Matthew and Charlie gave them their flashlights. So now they had four flashlights altogether. (including theirs) Me and John didn't have any flashlights so we were players, Matthew was a player and Charlie just watched. The game was me and John vs. Matthew. Even though Matthew was outnumbered, he won got the 5 goals super easily! After, John and Charlie were bored so they went back in their tent to sleep. Then, another kid that also was camping at the Lake Louise campsite asked if he could join. He said his name was Geronimo. I wish his last name was Stilton! The next game was Geronimo and Matthew vs. me! Their kicks were almost impossible to save so they won easily! Then, Matthew said that he had to go back to his tent with Charlie and John, Geronimo also had to go to his tent. Now it was only me, my little brother, and Jack. The whole world was pitch-black and we couldn't see a thing. Luckily, Jack and my brother used their flashlights to guide us back to our tents. My little brother went in the car to sleep with my mom. Me and my father got our toothbrush and toothpaste and brushed our teeth in the washroom. When we were done, my dad's flashlight guided us back into the tent where we changed into our pajamas and jumped on the cushion. My dad said that it was actually midnight now and we should really get some sleep. Withoutanother word, I was fast asleep.By: 龍的傳人P.S: The cushion was very comfortable.
