Today we were going to the Shanghai 科學館. Everyone woke up at 7:30 am. We put on our normal clothes, brushed our teeth, and ate a good breakfast. At 9:00 am, we took a taxi to the Shanghai 科學館. When we were there, we went out of the taxi and bought tickets for the 科學館. Then, we saw a 4-D movie called Haunted Lighthouse, just like the ones in Las Vegas! We decided we would watch it after lunch. After our tickets were bought, we went to an exhibit called Spectrum of Life. This place was a giant rainforest with living things. There were even real waterfalls, trees, and bridges. There were also mini exhibits in the rainforest. At the Gene Exploration mini-exhibit we learned how genes affect the characteristics of an animal. At the Butterfly Castle mini-exhibit we learned about different, rare species of butterflies. And at the Bird Kingdom mini-exhibit we learned about different, outstanding species of birds. Soon, we were very tired and we had lunch on the 1st floor. But we didn't order our food, we had to explore around and look at the foods. Next we would tell the cashier wanted. Once we found what we wanted, we gave the money to the cashier. The chefs quickly made the food and we found a table. We enjoyed a great lunch of rice, carrots, potatoes, beef, and Sprite. While we were eating we even saw a 10 year old child that was eating a meal fit for a king! When everyone was done, we went to the 4-D theatre to watch the movie. We found our seats and a staff gave us each 3-D glasses. Soon, the room turned pitch-black and the movie started. The movie was about a girl named Ashley and her brother who venture out to a haunted lighthouse. At the lighthouse, they meet two ghosts that want them to turn into ghosts so they can be friends with them. During the movie, there were special effects like water spraying at us or scents in the air. Soon, the movie ended and we handed back our 3-D glasses. Finally, we went to a Robot exhibit. This place also had a lot of mini exhibits. My favourite one was Robot Archery where you compete against a robot in archery. You get three arrows on each try, the objective of the game is to try to beat the robot by shooting an arrow in the middle before the robot does. On my 1st try, 1 arrow of mine hit. (which was not even close) On my 2nd try, 2 of my arrows hit. (and they were both super close) There was even a Robot Theatre. We decided to give it a try so we went inside. We found our seats and the shows started. The first show was where robots were dancing with umbrellas. The second show was where robots were sword fighting. And the last show was where robots were dancing to music. Soon, the shows ended and we took a taxi back to the Ambassador Hotel. Once we were there, we ate dinner at a restaurant, walked back to the hotel, and slept.
