Dear XX, XX, and A,
I have really enjoyed working with A, and you are right that my teaching is mainly aimed at college students. A is very talented, and I think he will do well wherever he goes. I agree that regular recitals and exams will help him. Theory classes are good, though I think A will quickly race to the front. I think it is good you are trying to find the right fit for A, and if you would like to try me again in the future when he is older, I would be pleased to see him.
Yes, if A is really interested in studying composition with me, I'll be happy to teach him. In addition to weekly composition assignments, I'd also expect A to have listening assignments. I also do some aural skills exercises that will help develop his ear and make composition easier.
