Our society has canonized a lot of new saints over the past few years, and we call them the whistle-blowers.  Their words are sacred and their motives unassallable because they stood for truth at any cost.  And since truth has been in such desperately short supply among our political and corporate leaders in recent years, their personal sacrifices have seemed that much more important, their integrity that much more exceptional.
