The chimp 黑猩猩 at the centre of this study, an alpha male 超南，男人中的男人 in his 30s called Santino, lives at Furuvik Zoo to the north of Stockholm.

His war against the visiting public began in the 1990s, when he got into the habit 形成了習慣 of collecting stones from the moat 壕溝 surrounding his artificial island 人造小島.

Santino would stack these up 囤積 during the morning, and then wait for visiting time, when the bombardment 炮擊（用石頭擊打遊人） would begin.

One zoo-keeper 動物園飼養員 said some of the attacks were like hailstorms 雹暴. However, the chimp was not only capable of this unusual example of forward planning 製定遠景計劃, he also managed to break lumps of concrete 水泥 into manageable-sized missiles 導彈 by checking for their weak points.

The researchers 研究人員 say Santino's behaviour shows convincingly that our fellow apes consider the future in a very complex way.

It implies 暗示 that they have a highly-developed consciousness 高級意識, and are capable of the lifelike simulation 如同人類的模仿能力 of potential events 潛在的活動.

However, despite his extraordinary abilities 驚人的能力, there was one thing Santino was not so good at: aiming 瞄準目標.

He rarely managed to hit 擊中 visitors, and on the rare occasions when he succeeded, there was no serious damage.
