中國人民解放軍越過廣西壯族自治區、雲南省邊境向越南發動攻勢，中越戰爭爆發。

 

抗美戰爭後，越南加強了與蘇聯而不是與中國的關係，在越南的一係列反華、親蘇的動作之後，中國於1979年今天進攻越南。

 

Vietnam invaded by China

After the Vietnam War, Vietnam bolstered its ties with the Soviet Union rather than with China, and, following a series of anti-Chinese, pro-Soviet maneuvers by Vietnam, China invaded its southern neighbour this day in 1979.

2008

科索沃宣布從塞爾維亞獨立

 

盡管一些國家拒絕承認新共和國；國際法院後來裁定科索沃沒有違反國際法，但塞爾維亞拒絕了這一決定。

 

Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia, though a number of countries refused to recognize the new republic; the International Court of Justice later ruled that Kosovo had not violated international law, but Serbia rejected that decision.
