The Cat and I
By My Daughter (4th grade)

A gigantic cat walked into my house,
And he thought I was a mouse!
I was about to flee,
But I had just had tea.
My belly began to growl.
The cat thought I was a dog so he began to fowl.
And this is the story of the cat and I,
So come in and have some pie.

Today is my day.
Yes, my day.
Not your day,
but my day.
Not yesterday,
not tomorrow,
only today.
Today is the day.
Today is MY DAY!
To play and play.
And hey,
today is a tiny bit of your day.
But remember,
today is mostly MY DAY!
