It takes time for me to slowly understand the society. One of the most important part of it to me, is the relationship between man and woman.
My earliest education on relationship started around age 12 when I entered Junior High school. I remember the first book I read with two main characters at mature age is a story called "The song of youth". The heroine in the novel is a very strong woman who took on a big career of revolution. She is a stronger person than her first husband. This book did not give me too much influence. The books that influenced me most in my earlier years are "Jane Eyre" and the biography of Madame Curie. And later "Pride and Prejudice". The popular romance books by Chinese writer "Qiong Yao" gave me much fun, but did not influence me much on my thought. The two English novels showed a new world to be that love can be very fulfilling, it make two hearts resonate with each other, and burst out energy, wisdom and passion. I was very fascinated with all the quick-witted words, enlightening thoughts and the intoxicating feelings. These books and some others opened a new world on people's mind to me.
As a young girl, I was especially attracted to the love the can make me better or make me perfect, that can raise my horizon, extend my view of the world to the unknown. I was filled with confidence and I think the world was rosy and full of chance and promise, I will get such love sooner or later in my life because I was a good person who was trying hard to be better. The biography of Madame Curie was an actual example and role model for me at the time. She was a strong woman who has high standard in work and life. She could do it all so well in everyway. Even at young age, I though I would like to be like her to have a good career and a happy family.
That was a girl's view of her world of relationship before she entered college.
