盡善盡美

昨晚看了一個拍攝於1997年的電影 As Good As It Gets，中文譯成《盡善盡美》。影片中主要有三個人物，舉止古怪、有潔癖、強迫症的老作家 Melvin Udall（Jack Nicholson 飾），他有著三句話就令人沮喪、處處敗興的本領。一個在餐館裏做招待的單親母親 Carol Connelly （Helen Hunt飾），她和自己的母親以及患有哮喘病的兒子住在一個小公寓裏。年輕畫家Simon Bishop（Greg Kinnear 飾），因為同性戀的緣故不被父母所理解，就在即將舉辦畫展之前惡運卻接踵而至。

三個人都有著各自的煩惱，接下來的劇情發展把他們聯係到了一起。整個影片給人的感覺是相當愉快的，特別是裏麵還有一隻格外逗人喜愛的小狗。我很喜歡 Melvin Udall 的那段真情傾訴:

I might be the only person on the face of the earth that knows you're the greatest woman on earth. I might be the only one who appreciates how amazing you are in every single thing that you do, and how you are with Spencer, "Spence," and in every single thought that you have, and how you say what you mean, and how you almost always mean something that's all about being straight and good. I think most people miss that about you, and I watch them, wondering how they can watch you bring their food, and clear their tables and never get that they just met the greatest woman alive. And the fact that I get it makes me feel good, about me.

生活不是完美的，有追求的人總是行走在盡善盡美的路上。

我很喜歡 Hydrangeas，開花燦爛並充滿了希望，而且顏色豐富、品種繁多，即使是同一植株，在不同時節都會變幻莫測。這是 Hydrangeas 家族中一個有趣的品種，“Hopcorn” purple，看起來就像一大把爆米花兒：



雖然是同一植株，花朵的顏色也有明顯偏差，這隻偏紫紅：


如果土壤呈現堿性，花朵就會偏紅色，如果呈酸性，就會趨於藍色，所以可以依照個人喜好施肥時注意調節土壤的酸堿度。我喜歡偏藍色，所以會每周補充一次檸檬、橘子樹的營養液，也可以買到一種調節劑，哪怕粉色的，都可以漸漸變成藍色。盡管是戶外品種，這個花經不起暴曬，土壤要濕潤，但任何時候都不可以積水。

我特意在它身邊放一隻幸運小青蛙，守護它，也算盡善盡美。:-)
