36. Preferred Distance
"My day was perfect, until you ruined it! I don't know you. Please go away!" She said emotionally, with tears in her eyes.
I stood there quietly, confused why things had turned this way.
It was in a dream. I was moving into a well-known university's graduate student housing, when I found out that, she, a long-time friend over the Internet, came to see some other friend at the same place. I debated whether I should go talk to her, and finally decided that it was too good a coincidence to miss.
However, somehow I just could not properly explain to her face to face that I was Surfer_Diver, who she had never met but should have known for years in the forums we both frequented.
In the end, I walked away sadly, thinking that it would be so much better if I have kept the distance.
