百合之最 – 非洲皇後【圖】

百合，或以豔麗，

香水百合

或以濃鬱的香味，引人駐步。至於哪種百合最豔麗，最芳香，恐取決於不同人的喜愛，難有一致標準


常見的百合花多為0.5～1米高左右。這種有近一人高，


花朵雖大，顏色也很鮮豔，但沒有香味。


今年見到學校示範花園中增添的這位“非洲皇後”，


不得了哇，至少有3米多高，和籃球架差不多，堪稱世界最高的百合（樹）了。


6月份開花，花朵成喇叭狀，


有一尺多長，花葉厚實，網上說有香味，但這幾棵卻沒有




按說女皇輕易不會低下高貴的頭，這非洲皇後幾乎垂到地上


不知是頭飾太重還是身材過於苗條(枝幹直徑約4～5厘米)

在一些國家，女皇地位高於國王，這棵名為路易十四（Louis XIV’）的百合顯然遜色於非洲皇後，身高為5 英尺，花朵也小得多

蜀葵，又名一丈紅，高達2米至3米

種過幾種高大的花，明年看看能否請這百合女王屈尊移駕

African Queen' is a vigorous lily with erect stems. In late midseason, large, fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers,
brownish purple outside, yellow to apricot inside, are borne in racemes. Deadhead spent flowers, but wait
until stems and leaves turn yellow to cut back to within a few inches of the ground. Spring and fall are the best
time to transplant, even though they can be transplanted any time. Provide ample moisture while flowering, but
can take periods of drought otherwise.
