This Christmas Break, to prevent me from borebom, I signed up for a 3-day ski camp for beginners.
The first day was a bit tough. I was having trouble putting on my skies, keeping my balance, and untangle myself from those damned skies. But soon, with Meghan, my instructor's tutoring, I began feeling used to them. Meghan taught me some pretty childish things: fall down, get up, and make a foot pizza, on your skes.We practiced our turns and stops on a really flat, and small hill so we wouldn't go flying down the big hill.
The second day started with a speedy ski race, Meghan won obviousely. After practicing so much, we're ready to face the big hill. But just in case, Meghan gave each one of us a mini test. We all passed. I've got to admit, the BIG hill is much steeper and bigger than it sounds, especially on our first run. It was incredibly amazingly scary. And all the speed and falling accidents of others really made me regret of not buying an insurance.
I changed my mind imidiately the next day. We all had so much fun and we did learn alot, so, I thought it's worth a few scrapes. Besides, we're on snow, not ice. Now, I could turn from up-hill to down-hill in seconds, ofcourse, without falling, and I feel like on a highway, so fast. With speedy wind blowing on my face, I had to hold down my hat with one hand and keep my balance with the other, while racing down the hill.I even did some hops. I feel like an expert.
Now I know, when it comes to ANY sports, I'm the one!
