亨利·普賽爾 （Henry Purcell,1659-1695），是巴洛克早期的英國作曲家，曾曆任查理二世國王弦樂隊的作曲師，威斯敏斯特教堂的管風琴師，皇家教堂的三名管風琴師之一，畢生差不多都是在威斯敏斯特教堂度過的。普賽爾十歲起在皇室小聖堂中充當歌童，直到1673年他的嗓子被唱傷為止。於是他改任為後改任皇室樂器保管員約翰·亨傑斯頓的助手；普賽爾大約在1680年和1681年間結婚，從那時起，他便開始寫作歌劇音樂；1682年他被任命為皇室樂隊的管風琴師，1683年又任職為國王的樂器管理員。他曾在1685年為詹姆斯二世和1689年威廉姆三世的加冕禮演奏管風琴音樂，最後一次為皇室演奏音樂是在瑪麗皇後1695年的葬禮上。這一年還沒有結束，他就瘁死了，1695年11月26日他被埋葬在威斯敏斯特大教堂。
