國際樂壇上一顆耀眼的新星：年輕的中國女指揮家張弦（Xian Zhang）

張弦在2002年馬澤爾/韋拉國際指揮比賽中獲一等獎，現任紐約愛樂樂團的替補指揮和辛辛納提大學音樂學院的音樂會管弦樂團的音樂指導。2000年夏季，她在意大利盧卡歌劇院任盧卡音樂節管弦樂團的音樂總監， 1997-1998年間任中央音樂學院的助教。

　　張弦最近指揮的演出有：與紐約愛樂樂團的首演音樂會、與（紐約）聖盧克管弦樂團和與（新西蘭）奧克蘭愛樂樂團的演出，以及與意大利布塞托的朱塞佩·威爾第劇院演出《唐璜》，與辛辛納提歌劇院演出《茶花女》。下一步的演出計劃有：與紐約愛樂樂團簽約的2005年1月和5月的音樂會，與辛辛納提歌劇院續約指揮《唐璜》。還有將於2005年5月與倫敦交響樂團首演。

　　出生於中國丹東市，張弦從四歲開始學鋼琴，11歲時進入中央音樂學院附中，主修鋼琴。她在指揮方麵的卓越天賦使音樂學院的教授信服，進入中央音樂學院指揮係。張弦先後在該學院獲得學士和碩士學位， 1998年 她赴美在辛辛納提音樂學院攻讀博士學位之前，在該學院的指揮係任教一年。

　　張弦的指揮教師包括鄭小瑛、吳靈芬和俞峰。自她贏得馬澤爾/韋拉國際指揮比賽以來，張弦一直在洛林·馬澤爾大師的指導下工作。在20歲時，張弦在北京中央音樂學院首演，指揮中央歌劇院管弦樂團演出莫紮特的《費加羅的婚禮》。同年還指揮中國歌劇舞劇院演出中國歌劇《白毛女》。

　　Xian Zhang won first prize in the Maazel/Vilar Conductors’ Competition in New York in 2002. Xian Zhang is currently serving as a cover conductor of the New York Philharmonic and music director of the concert Orchestra at the College-Conservatory of Music of ht e University of Cincinnati, She has also been Music Director of Lucca Festival Orchestra at the Opera Theatre of Lucca (Italy) during the summer of 2000 and Assistant Professor at the Central Conservatory of Music 1997-1998.

　　Ms. Zhang’s most recent conducting appearances include her debut concerts with the New York Philharmonic and performances with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s (New York) and the Auckland Philharmonia (New Zealand), don Giovanni at Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto (Italy), and La Traviata with the Cincinnati Opera. Upcoming appearances include subscription concerts with the New York Philharmonic in January and May of 2005, a re-engagement with the Cincinnati Opera conducting Don Giovanni. Ms. Zhang will make her debut with the London Symphony Orchestra in May of 2005.

　　Born in Dandong, China, Xian Zhang started playing piano since four. At the age of eleven, she entered the High School Affiliate of the Central Conservatory of Music majoring in piano. Her superior talent for conducting convinced the faculty to admit her to the conducting department at the Central conservatory of Music. She subsequently received both the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from that conservatory and served one year on the conducting faculty before coming to the United States in 1998 to pursue her doctoral study at the College-conservatory of Music in Cincinnati. Ms. Zhang’s conducting teachers include Zheng Xiaoying, Wu Lingfen and Yu Feng. Since winning the Maazel / Vi.ar Conductor’s Competition, she has been working under the tutelage of maestro Lorin Maazel. At the age of Twenty, Xian Zhang made her conducting debut directing performances of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with the Central Opera House Orchestra at the Central Conservatory in Beijing. She also conducted performances of Chinese opera, The White-Hair Lady, with the China Opera House in the same year.
