Hong Kong Ren

Don't know why I feel wired when I am in a Hong Kong friends group. They are Chinese, but the way they talk, the way they think are all influenced by western culture. Like my best Hong Kong friend Rachel, she is such a nice girl, she gave me tons of help since I immigrated to Toronto. But I just can't have deeper friendship with her. I think they are too polite, too polished, which makes me feel unreal. Because they are too polite, I can't say what I want to say from bottom of my heart. I have to think carefully before I talk to them. This is not what the real friend should be, right?
