Animal kingdom in my backyard

When my brothers and I were little we had different pets. Some years were chicken, some years were rabbit, usually one for each. I didn’t like to take care of them. My younger brother is an animal lover, he always took care of my pet. Working from home got me a chance to get close to the animals in my backyard. I started to feed a white stray cat, Jim named her Felina, who was injured, skinny and old. We also set up feeders for squirrels and birds. I observed their hierarchy: the cat is a queen, then morning dove, blue jay, red head woodpecker, squirrel. Morning doves are quiet and can eat together with others doves; blue jay and red head woodpecker are beautiful; blue jay is very loud when approaching bird feeder; squirrels love my papayas. Felina became our friend. Each morning when I opened the blinds on my backyard sliding door, she was sitting there and looking at me. When I’m drinking my coffee or singing, she will sit under one of the small trees. I suspected she doesn’t care about my singing. When I’m meditating she will sit in another chair and close her eyes. When I’m done I will give her some treats. That\'s how I started my day in the past year. Felina died about 3 weeks ago. I feel she leave a hole in my heart.
