A Short Letter To My Father
Saturday, April 18, 2009 USA
Dear Father,
Last weekend when I talked with you over the phone I did not catch what you were talking about so I just answered you with OKs. Later I found out that you told me I would have only three or five days if I could go visiting you. Of course we did not take those words seriously.
Shortly after midnight of Thursday my local time, or Friday afternoon Beijing Time, ZM (my youngest brother) called to inform me that since the morning you had been quiet, your body temprature was low and you had no response to anything any more. We then realized that you could not wait to leave for that place called heaven. You were going away so peacefully.
Father, you have lived in this world for 85 years. You have raised three children with my mother and have educated countless students. I am so pround of what you have achived. From now on, if I miss you I will only need to look up to the sky and know that you are alway there. I heard that the heaven is full of fresh flowers and joys. I am hoping that you enjoy your time being there. We will always remember you. Rest assured that we will be doing just fine ...
Love, Your son
