ubuntu, elive, and video editing tools

In order to try out the new camera and upcomming camcord, I tried some open source tools to find out the tool that fit my need best.
Requirement:
1. Can handle MJPEG format
2. Can cut, join, add title(chinese), mix mp3
3. Can compress video clips into common format such as mpeg1/2, so it can be emailed and shared by othter people and players.
4. Last but not leaset, opensource and ideally runs on both Linux and FreeBSD.



I tried these candidates:

1. Cinelerra

2. Kino

3. LiVES

Among them, Kino is the best.
