令人沮喪的social studies

老大明天social studies考試，剛幫他複習了一下，發現內容極其depressing，十七世紀到十九世紀的美國曆史基本是：

Whites come.

Whites divide lands.

Whites learn to grow crops and hunt from Indians.

Whites drive indians out of their lands.

Indians fight back. Lose lands and lives.

Whites force Indians to sign treaties in English to give away their lands. Would have killed them if they didn't sign.

Whites fight whites over lands. Indians take sides at times. Lose lands as a result.

President Jackson gives self power to force Indians out.

Indians seek help from supreme court. Win case and lose lands anyway.

Whites force Indians to assimilate.We all know the results.

不過，米國小學生這麽學習自己國家的曆史，這本身就讓人尊敬。
