Coming out Nyungne practice this morning, I was peaceful. Then I saw two segments of rainbows in the sky. It was a quite clear day and the Sun was big. It would be rare to see rainbows on such conditions. So I immediately thought it might be a sign and a "smile" from the sky for our practice. I pointed the rainbows to other attendees. Subconciously, I was telling them it was special.
In the afternoon, a Dharma friend called. I mentioned the rainbow to her. She immediately pointed out that my mind was not pure and were making noise and grasping.
I was very thankful to her. Right, we normally live a day with so many imaginary mental constructions and believe they are all real. As a Dharma practitioner, we practice to reduce these constructions. But today coming to the rainbow, I was not aware what I was doing. The Nyungen practice provided us a period of time when we can keep really simple mind, be with the present, and stay in the clarity of our mind. I was very grateful that I had such an opportunity. The Dharma friend reminded me that I need to be aware of making connections such as the example of the raibbow. It is what it is, nothing more, nothing less.
Stay with present with clarity.
