失約／遲繳費的可能後果

電話預約忘了cancel，被威脅要負全部費用，否則上法庭。

We scheduled a home inspection appointment but forgot to cancel. The inspector said we will be responsible for all the fees, even though the service is not provided, otherwise he will sue us on the court.
We haven't signed anything for the inspection service and all he has is our address and telephone.
Can he really sue us?

right, you can ignore it, and the guy has no way to accuse you.
But,if you are an honest man, I think you should pay a small fee to the inspector and say sorry. Because you waste his time and time is his money, he need it to feed his family.
Many American think A lot of Chinese are cheater and are irresponsible. I don't think so. But I guess that inspector'll tell his friends and all other guys: don't believe the CHINESE, they CAN'T be trust.

Take it easy, buddy.
I admit it's my fault(I totally forgot the thing) and I apologized.
I also said I am willing to pay some penalty but not the entire fee for the service since it is not provided.

接到法庭傳單：fail to pay rent,我12月中旬從外州搬進公寓，當時付了January的房租和押金（lease上寫明的。）當時我問辦公室十二月的半個月的咋麽辦，那人看了一眼 lease，說，這是for January，然後沒有回答。我入住以後，一月1號沒有付錢。但到了中旬突然收到一張紙片，讓付錢加30元late fee。我覺得不應該付late fee。所以打算二月去辦公室申辯（跟公寓的辦公室是不同的公司）。但是2月一號去辦公室沒人，就隻留下二月的租金，打算打電話把late fee去掉。結果有時忘了，加上出差，和大雪，今天就收到法庭的傳單。要2月26日出庭。我該怎麽辦？
