No live LCD: You have a far better viewfinder with the ground glass of a DSLR. Some folks new to DSLRs don't realize that the LCD on the back does not show the image while you are composing as it does on p/s and video cameras. On a real DSLR the reflex mirror instead reflects the image to the ground glass for you and away from the CCD, which is only exposed when the photo is taken. You'll notice that your ground glass viewfinder goes black during the moment of exposure, since the mirror flips up and lets the CCD get exposed.
