Restful Spontaneity

“Do not sweat the small stuff.”

Like some crazed feeling matches the tune of the Earth,

We sail by our understanding, limited, not lifted up.

Twilight delight, sharp and skin-deep,

Shadows rush into our freedom.

Life is small and time dark.

For if we practice things in the spirit of the water,

Not to climb up but to lie down at the steep,

Marveling a stillness so poignant, alone and full of truth,

While racing the condemned miles as our only rights,

Is that always easier to die than to live

A life of ever changing ecstasy where

The holiest hours are filled with

Sorrowful desires?
