One of great American cultures that I’ve learned is to forgive.
For instance, to Americans, almost every one is a hero when he dies. And almost every American will forgive him/her at the moment when s/he is dying no matter how evil s/he is when they are alive. Almost every American if not all Americans will never step even a single foot, let alone thousands of feet, on a dead body though the dead person is very hateful. Americans are very generous of their sweet words to the death. For example, the great comments that his Americans of friends and foes gave to the former President Richard Nixon are very touching after his death.
In some sense, it is useless and helpless not to forgive about someone, especially after s/he is dead. Secondly, it may be very harmful to our health mentally and physically when we don’t know how to forgive. Thirdly, every one and each one of us would make some mistakes intentionally or unintentionally, how can we live without forgiving these wrongdoings of others and ourselves? It is impossible.
To forgive sometimes means not to be too picky or hard on others like our friend, spouse, co-worker, and every one, which requires great personality, character, and education.
As a matter of fact, we ‘ve got to forgive as much as possible those who are even alive. For example, you should forgive No Worry for his not using Chinese because his Chinese program is down today. To forgive can make you as well as others great and happy. To know how to forgive can make the world more beautiful. Try to forgive if you will. It is great to forgive.
