Nine Million Bicycles講述了一個來自北京的故事，融合著爵士的流行味道慢版的抒情小調。Katie Melua甜美清澈的嗓音,如絲般飄逸。就像Katie Melua說的：I like this song because it is a simple juxtaposition of a trivial idea against an important idea。是啊，喜愛就好，不需要理由。她恣意的唱著，因為我相信隻有自然，才能流出內心的音樂，而隻有恣意的活著才能自然。

今年年僅21歲的女歌手凱蒂．梅盧阿(Katie Melua)出生於前蘇聯的一個小國 Georgia(格魯吉亞)。成長於莫斯科、黑海、北愛爾蘭及倫敦。從小夢想可以從政或成為史學家的她，就讀英國表演藝術學校時被音樂製作人Mike Batt挖掘，簽入獨立廠牌DRAMATICO旗下。2003年底，Katie Melua以新星的姿態湧出歌壇，首支單曲"The Closest Thing To Crazy"強登英國金榜Top 10。不久，廣獲好評的首張專輯《Call Of The Search》一舉擠下英倫人氣天後Dido、擊退Norah Jones，榮獲6周英國金榜後座，成為英國2004開春迄今最暢銷專輯。Katie Melua，隻是個十九歲的少女，卻儼然成為新一代的流行爵士天後。

2005年九月，Katie發行了她的第二張錄音室專輯《Piece By Piece》。新專輯首周進入英國流行音樂排行榜榜單中，便戰勝了雙周冠軍大衛．格雷(David Gray)的專輯《Life In Slow Motion》順利登頂。

聲線兼備藍調、民謠、爵士味道的Katie Melua，常被樂評拿來與諾拉．瓊絲相提並論。而我一直覺得Katie Melua算不上是爵士歌者,隻能說她融合了很多曲風點.也許就是因此更能被大眾所接受. 連她自己也說我的偶像不是爵士歌手,而是民謠歌手Eva Cassidy，但她那相較甜美清澈的年輕嗓音，讓人遙想起已逝的跨界流行爵士美聲Eva Cassidy。據說在被Mike Batt發掘的那天，Katie所演唱的正好就是受Eva啟發而學下的創作曲“Faraway Voice”......
