該劇取材於當今社會的爭議話題之一 —— 大學生同居。雖然話題敏感，但很貼近生活。本劇以生動有趣的人物形象和詼諧幽默的喜劇風格，講述大學生在學校外麵合租的一些趣事。被熱議為網絡版《武林外傳》和中國版《老友記》。
劇中每個成員都具有鮮明的個性，例如有潔癖的安寧，愛顯擺的小寶，嗜賭的老車，宅男小飛，非主流趙寧，野蠻老婆姚夢，“妻管嚴”黎偉，有錢但又摳門的辰浩等等，每一集講述一個有趣的故事。
在這部劇中，你能看到當代大學生的另一種生存狀態，他們對社會的關注，他們的生活理想，他們彼此之間的情誼。無厘頭搞笑當中又不乏當下社會的真實寫照。所謂的80後，所謂的大學生，所謂的年輕人，他們就是代表，是這個時代的符號。
