Make sweet rice wine

    When my parents were visiting us, they made many delicious food for us. Such as steam bund, baozi, sweet rice wine etc.. Me and my husband liked the rice wine very much.

   Last month, our credit card bill was around $4000 which doesn't include mortgage, utility bills, eduction fees. It was just for grocery food, gas, resteraunt miscelleus stuff for fun.
We realize we can't spend like Americans (no offense), need to control how to cut cost.
1. As little resteraunt eating as possible
2. We don't buy things that we want to have but not really need to
3. wait some time to buy things we need.
4. learn to say no to kids
5. try more DIY

So  that's my motivation to make sweet rice wine myself.  I searched some recipes online  in wenxuecity which is quite helpful. Soak rice for 1 day, steam it for about 20mints, rinse it with cold water, then add rice wine yeast. The key is to control when to add the yeast, rice temparature has be right, a little bit warmer than your hand. After 2 to 3 days, rice wine is ready. I already made one which tastes as good as prefessional one. I feel really proud and happy for myself. :-)
Money doesn't always buy happiness.
