Introduction

Hi! I’m Chloe and I’m going to tell you all about some of my fabulous events of Ballet. Ballet is a beautiful and graceful kind of dance, it fun and also good for you and your body.
In this series of amazing stories you will find out all about me and my dancing dreams and all about my ballerina sister.

Chapter 1:My ballerina sister

When I was a little girl, my mum was pregnant. After a few months she had a baby girl, mum and dad decided to call her Zoe( just because it rhymed with my name Chloe). Well now this little sister was very clever, she learnt very quickly and was known to be a little genius.

One day, when Zoe was 4 Mum signed me up for ‘The Royal Academy Of dance’ to learn ballet on Saturdays. My sister wanted to watch me so she came along to watch. I was a starter so my dancing wasn’t that good, but Zoe absolutely loved it! She loved it so much that she wanted to dance too! The problem was, everyone said she was too young and that you need to be at least 5 to dance, but obviously that wasn’t true. Zoe was furious; she cried and cried until mum had to smack her for the very first time! And of course, she stopped.

When my sister was 5, I was 8 and grade 3 in ballets (grade 3 is quite high, especially for an 8 year old)! Zoe started ballet classes in the younger class and as always she learnt quickly. And soon she was grade 2 and too good for the younger classes. So the teachers said that she could go up to my class!

Chapter 2 we are in same class!

The next Saturday Zoe got changed in the changing rooms with me. She had a new white ballet tutu for 8 year olds (although she was only 5) and oh! How pretty she looked in it, it definitely beats her pink one! She got dressed a quick as a flash and skipped into the studios to have a short practice before the class started. After 5 minutes Miss. Hardy our ballet teacher came in. Miss. Hardy was a very stern teacher; she has long chestnut brown hair tied neatly in a bun and she has an extremely straight back perfect as a dancer’s body.
The lesson started with warm up’s, plies, grand battlements and Battement degage, then centre work (my favourite) With Chasses, sissones, temps leves, and the fantastic Grand Jetes! Next, of course is something that I don’t enjoy which is flexibility, but Zoe loves these. She can do the splits both ways and can hold her leg in the air too! So that’s something for her to enjoy! Finally we done the end of lesson reverence/curtsy then the lesson was over. Phew! That was a tiring 2 hours! We got changed and waited in the hall for mum. A few minutes later she arrived to take us home. We said goodbye to Miss. Hardy and left the building, on the way Zoe kept on showing off about her dancing.
The following morning when I woke up I found Zoe practicing grand battements in our room with a copy of Miss. Hardy’s lesson books on the floor; I stared at her in surprise for a moment then blurted out “ So that’s how you get so good at it!” Yes, my sneaky little sister had been practicing every morning before I woke up! And that was a great idea because every single morning, when I wake up Zoe would be having her breakfast in the kitchen! Zoe turned around, looked at me and said “Morning.” I didn’t say morning back to her because I was very, very angry; imagine practicing every morning without telling your own sister! Isn’t that ridiculous?

Chapter 3 any troubles?

My eyes flooded with tears as I looked at her, but she didn’t look at all sorry for me, she just blinked her eyelashes like a grown up girl and we both stood there in silence. Just then mum called” Breakfast time, girls!” we both jumped. Oh no! How did mum know that we were awake? She must have overheard us talking! “Come on girls, I know you’re up.” Came mum’s voice again, more sternly.

Everyone should know what it means. Well if you don’t it means that your parents want you there straight away. Now, I had no choice. All I could do was to go right into the kitchen or wherever mum was and do what she told me. So that’s exactly what I done, Zoe followed me out because mum had said ‘girls’ and not ’Chloe’. Mum was leaning on the table tapping her finger on the wood. And maybe not in yours, but in mine it means that she wants us over there immediately. This meant trouble! But what bad, troublesome thing did I do? She pointed at the table and said “Eat n-o-w and I’ll have a word with you later.” We sat down and ate the breakfast very slowly, because we were dreading of what would happen later.

Finally, after about half an hour, we had finished our food. Mum was still standing next to the table, reading a book. When she saw that we were finished, she said” All right, in the living room.” We followed mum into the living room and stood beside her.” So Chloe, what have you been up to with your sister?” I shrugged, I didn’t have a clue what she was talking about, but Zoe did. I could tell by her face expression, it was a half glad expression with slight look of worry.
