如何寫好推薦信？

By Jan Krasny 我們都知道推薦信是很重要性的。首先，你的律師可憑借這些信件起草說服力強的申請；其次，移民局把它們用來作為你申請材料中的輔助文件。以下是如何起草推薦信的幾點建議： Letters of recommendation are very important to a visa petition. First, your attorney uses these letters to draft a strong persuasive petition, and second, the USCIS adjudicators use the letters as supporting documentation for the factual assertions made by the petitioner. Due to the important role of these letters it is very important to draft a strong letter of recommendation. Here are some drafting tips: 1. If the petitioner is drafting the letters for the reviewers it is very important to make each letter unique and different. a. Avoid same or similar sentences. b. Change the structure of the letters so that it is not obvious if all of the letters are written by the same person. c. Use synonyms to replace similar wording. d. Add or leave out certain information from the letters, for example focus each letter on a different achievement. 2. When comparing the petitioner with other scientists: a. Avoid discussion of any shortages of people similarly qualified. b. Focus on the unique and impressive accomplishments of the individual. c. Write reasons for why the petitioner is better qualified than most other scientists in his field. (ex. petitioner has more publications, unique accomplishments, creativity, etc…) d. Try to show that the petitioner is irreplaceable by another U.S. scientist. 3. Describe the petitioner’s achievement in easily understood language a. Avoid using overly technical terminology. b. If you need to use technical language, write a summary of the achievement in plain English so that your attorney and more importantly the USCIS adjudicator understands why your work is important. c. Discuss the real-world impact of the achievement. (ex. more fuel-efficient automobiles) These are just some extra tips on how to improve your letters of recommendation.
